The Practice of Abiding

In Matt 26, Mary recognised the supreme value of Jesus’ presence and sat at His feet. Her stance was judged by those around her as having no practical use or value, yet Jesus loved and affirmed her use of time and value.

Martha was so busy serving Jesus, that she missed the presence of Jesus. 

Abiding in God

Pastor Nigel shares a message on the power of abiding, that apart from God we can do nothing. If you abide in Him, He will make you fruitful, but if you focus on being fruitful without abiding you’re just going to dry out.

Biblical View of Work

Under the curse, the world views work either as a necessary evil to survive or as as a means to self-aggrandisement, giving them identity, significance, esteem and purpose.

For a Biblical Christian work is glorifying God. As we outwork all God has created us to be, we glorify Him and His handiwork. We see God working in the first chapter of the bible. You are created in His image. In the second chapter, before the curse, God invites us not only to observe His works, but to participate in them and work with Him - to be co-creators, to rule, to work and worship, continuing the creative process.

There is one God and thus there is one truth.
However we live in a culture that worships many ‘gods’ and believes truth is relative. 

If absolute truth exists it means we can build solid foundations and that there are sure things that we have the ability to TRULY know.
